Gore Highway (Pittsworth - Millmerran), various locations, rehabilitate pavement

This project has trialled sustainable pavement systems and products to rehabilitate deteriorating sections of the Gore Highway.

The department is continuing rehabilitation works on sections of the highway with works underway from east of Ware Street, Brookstead to Millmerran-Leyburn Road, Yandilla.

Trials using innovative and sustainable pavement materials were carried out in various stages of the project, with results incorporated into the delivery of the remaining sections.

The works involve using a specialised machine to recycle the existing road base materials before laying a seal over the full width of the road.

It will provide a more robust highway and smoother ride for road users.
